Themes
Themes - Themes in a workbook modify its overall appearance, including colors, fonts, and effects. The drop-down menu includes options like Built-in, More Themes (removed in 2010), Browse for Themes, and Save Current Theme. Built-in themes include Office, Facet, Integral, Ion, Boardroom, Organic, Retrospect, Slice, Wisp, Berlin, and Frame, with "Office" as the default theme.
Colors - Drop-Down allows users to view and change the color component of the active theme, featuring commands for Built-in and Customize Colors, with "Office" set as the default color.
Fonts - Drop-Down provides a list of available fonts and allows changing the font component of the active theme, including commands for Built-in and Customize Fonts. The default fonts are "Aptos Display" for Heading and "Aptos Narrow" for Body.
Effects - The "Effects" drop-down allows users to select from various graphical effects for the active theme, including options like Office, Subtle Solids, and Frosted Glass. The default effect is set to "Office".
Page Setup
Margins Drop-Down allows selection from built-in settings (Normal, Wide, Narrow) or customization. Choosing Custom displays the "Page Setup" dialog box, specifically the Margins tab.
Orientation - Orientation options allow users to switch between Portrait and Landscape views.
Size - Drop-Down allows for the selection of various available paper sizes, with the option to view additional sizes via the "Page Setup" dialog box, specifically under the Page tab.
Print Area - Drop-Down features commands for managing the print area: Set Print Area and Clear Print Area.
Breaks -Drop-Down includes commands for managing page breaks: Insert Page Break, Remove Page Break, and Reset All Page Breaks.
Background-Displays the "Sheet Background" dialog box for adding a background image to a worksheet, changing to 'Delete Background' when an image is assigned.
Print - Titles opens the "Page Setup" dialog box under the Sheet tab, enabling the entry of rows or columns to repeat.
Scale to Fit
Width - Width options range from 1 to 9 pages, with a combo box offering selections for Automatic, specific page counts, and an additional option titled More Pages, which opens the "Page Setup" dialog box for further adjustments.
Height - Height settings allow users to select from 1 to 9 pages using a combo box, which includes options for Automatic and More Pages. Selecting More Pages opens the "Page Setup" dialog box, specifically the Page tab, offering a shortcut to adjust scaling and other settings.
Scale - Scale adjusts the page scale by 5% increments, offering a shortcut to the Page Setup under the Page tab for Scaling.
• Sheet Right to Left: Changes sheet direction with the first column on the right.
• Gridlines View: Toggles display of gridlines in the active worksheet, linking to Page Setup.
• Gridlines Print: Toggles printing of gridlines, with access provided via Excel Options.
• Headings View: Toggles display of row and column headers in the active worksheet, also linked to Excel Options.
• Headings Print: Determines whether row and column headers are included in printing, accessible through Page Setup.
Arrange
Bring Forward - The "Bring Forward" button allows users to elevate a selected object by one level. Its drop-down menu features two options: "Bring to Front," which places the selected object above all other objects, and "Bring Forward," which moves it one level forward.
Send Backward - The "Send Backward" button allows users to move a selected object back one level, while its drop-down menu includes options for "Send to Back," which sends the object to the back of all others.
Selection Pane - Drop-Down displays the Selection Task Pane.
Align - The drop-down menu labeled "Align" includes the following commands: Align Left, Align Center, Align Right, Align Top, Align Middle, Align Bottom, Distribute Horizontally, Distribute Vertically, Snap to Grid, Snap to Shape, and View Gridlines.
Align features in Word extras include aligning to the page, aligning to the margin, aligning selected objects, and options to view gridlines and adjust grid settings.
Align features in PowerPoint include Align to Slide, Align Selected Objects, View Gridlines, and View Settings.
Group - Drop-Down features commands for Group, Regroup, and Ungroup.
Rotate - Rotate or flip the selected object using the commands available in the drop-down menu, which includes Rotate Right 90, Rotate Left 90, Flip Vertical, Flip Horizontal, and More Rotation Options.
